The Heard Museum

Indian Dancer
Kindy, Natalie and Megan enjoying the Indian Dance.

Me and Max - Yes there is a picture of me on the blog!

Maya waiting for it to start.

Elena and Madi enjoying the fun!
In July, the Heard Museum has free days! So on Saturday we went with the Wolfley's and had a great time. We saw several different Indian dances, eat ice cream sandwichs, made necklaces, spider bracelets and many more fun things! It is one way that we are trying to expose our kids to different things! Thanks Kindy for the invitation!

Madi's Hair

Madison has been growing her hair for over a year and was wanting to get it cut. She decided that she wanted to donate the hair to locks of love which makes wigs for kids who need wigs due to illnesses. So today we went - here is her before it was cut
That's 11 inches in her hand. She could not believe it!

Riding home in the car - a girl with a new sassy do! She loves it.

A little bit better pictures. She loves the fact that she can shake her hair and it all moves! What a great cut for a cute girl!

The 4th of July!

We had a great July 4th! We went swimming at Uncle Wayne's and Aunt Sue's. They live near Bryant's work so he met us there after work!
Max and Madi taking it easy on the Hammock - they had decided that we need to get one!

Max's huge splash after jumping off the rock wall!

Madi -thinking about whether she wants to jump or not! She ended up jumping and had a great time!

Maya - blurry action shot - jumping off the diving board and loving every minute of it!
Thanks so much Wayne and Sue for having a party! We then went and watched some fireworks with the some families from our ward and had banana splits! It was a great day and made us gratefuly for the great country that we live in! The kids loved the fireworks and were a little sad when they were done!

Watermelon - Yummy

We have been eating a lot of watermelon and loving every minute of it. Here are so pictures and a little video of a watermelon eating contest we had last night!
Madi - looking at her slice
Bryant devouring the whole slice
Max - watching Bryant to make sure that he is not too far ahead of him.
And Maya just happy to be getting dirty with watermelon.
This reminded me of growing up and watching Kindy, Greg and Karen devour a slice of watermelon in no time! I love summer time and the yummy food there is to eat!

Madison's Baptism

Our friend took pictures of Madi at the Temple, here are just 2 of the many pictures.
Madison got baptized on Thursday June 25th. It was a great day and very crazy to think that she is eight years old. Both grandparents came down for the baptism as well as her AZ cousins and primary class. Thanks to all who were there for it. The cutest thing happened - once she got baptized and I was helping her change - she could not stop giggling! I asked her why she was giggly and she said because she felt so good. She was postively glowing! Madison is a great kid and such a good example to Max and Maya! We love you!

Summer means Swim Team

Madi's team - She is on the 3rd row and 3rd from the left. 7 & 8 year old team
Max's team - 3rd row and 2nd from the left - 6 and under

Max on the starting blocks - in the closest lane - what a stance

Madi - in the blue swim suit - right in the middle lane

If it is June, then is must be swim team time at the Rockwood's. Madi and Max are both in Swim Team this year with the Taylor Torpeods. Thursday was their first meet of the year in Freestyle. It was a nice night since there was a breeze and it was only 93 outside. They both swam hard and did a great job! It is so fun to see them swim. It reminds me of when I did swimteam. The only difference is that our meets were indoors in a muggy pool area and a lot less kids than on their teams! Way to go Madi and Max.

Madison is 8!

On June 6th - Madison turned 8. Here is a pictures of her in her "teenage" dress (as she calls it)
I can't believe that she has been in our family for 8 years! It seemed just like yesterday that Bryant and I were anxiously awaiting her arrival!
Her birthday cake - Cheesecake - just like her mom with fresh strawberries! It was delicious and she helped me make it!

Madi and Maya loving each other. We had just gotten back from swimming - something that we do everyday during the summer!

Maya, Madi and Max - all happy that it is Madi's birthday and loving the day.

There She is -our blue eyed, blonde hair, summer tanned girl. She has been the best big sister any Max or Maya could ask for or any oldest child that any Kari or Bryant could ask for! She is excited to get baptized at the end of the month. I will post pictures of the baptism then!
