LA Ragnar

All of the girls - Nancy , Karen, Me, Kindy, Kris, Kim and Tara
Sisters - Karen, Me, Kindy, Kris and Kim - all but Koni - she lives in VA - too far to come.
A year ago - my sister Kris decided that it would be great if our family ran the LA Ragnar in April of 2010. I had just finished running Pat's Run and thought it would be a great idea.
I started training for it in November running between 4 and 5 days a week until April.
It was soo much fun and so tiring.
I was in the Man Van. It was all guys and me. Chris Scott - brother in law, Rob and Jon Jamieson - practically family, 2 Zobell boys and Owen our driver. We were the first legs running through Ventura, Oxnard and other parts of So Cal.
We then got a rest for a few hours and ran into the night. My second leg started off in a dark and scary park and Chris ran with me for about 2 1/2 miles so that I would be safe - he ended up running over 22 miles in a 24 hours period. After Rob ended running through Beverly Hills and Chris down to the Santa Monica Pier - we got a quick bite to eat and took a nap before we had to get ready to run our last legs.
My last leg was through Long Beach industrial area with lots of barking dogs behind fences and 3 HUGE overpasses but I did it. I ran all 3 legs quicker than I would and had a great time.
We went and got cleaned up and then waited for the rest of the team at Dana Point at the beach. Beautiful beach and loved the ocean right there! It was so much fun to do something so crazy.
I loved running and getting ready for it. Thanks to the team for making it so much fun for me!!
The Man Van - at the end!!!!
I can't wait to do something like this again! In fact, I have now signed up to run a 1/2 marathon in November. I loved the feeling that I got when I finished running and hope to keep running for a long time.
