Anniversary Gift - Better late than never - Part 1 the Shed

For our Anniversary last year - we talked about getting a shed so we could empty out part of the garage and the rest of the "stuff" in the back yard. Well, Bryant started the shed middle of March and has done a great job. It started with them clearing off the area, bringing in rocks, and pouring cement.

Bryant working the cement mixer. He did a great job laying the cement and the kids loved watching him.

Max and Bryant cleaning the mixer. Max loved using the sprayer to clean it out and to get Bryant wet.

Smoothing out the second part of the pad for the shed! His knee's were a little sore.

Kids hand prints along with Pepper (our dog) It reminded me of the handprints that were done back in NY when we got the pool!

Now that the cement is done, the framing has begun. Until the next time I blog - I am sure the suspense will not kill anyone!

Black and Yellow, Get behind a fellow!

This picture is after the carnage. All of the bees died except for a few which keep coming back but not for good. We hated to kill the bees but they were right where Bryant is building our shed and the kids play. Sorry that the pictures go in reverse order.

The title of the blog is from the Bee Movie - my kids loved that movie until Saturday afternoon. We came back from my sister's house and Maya looked outside and asked me what all of the black things were in the air. I looked out our back door and noticed that there was a HUGe swarm of bees. There must have been a least a million of them (to me but probably at least 1000.)

Bryant was at work and I had no idea what to do. I called him and he told me not to go outside and he would look at it in the morning.
Here is the brave guy spraying the bees - sorry it was taken thru the screen. I didn't want to get too close.

Early Monday morning, Bryant went to home depot and got 2 big cans of spray and covered himself so that he wouldn't get stung. He swells up when it happens. I was on standby with 911 in case we needed them.

Sunday Morning while I was at a meeting, Bryant knocked down the bees with a very long stick. But instead of flying away - they all got behind each other on the ground. All day we were hoping that they would leave but, no they did not.

See the huge mass of them in our tree. This is what it looked like Saturday Night.

Making Cookies with Madi

Madison, who is almost 8, has been wanting to make chocolate chip cookies all by herself. So, she did and they turned out great. I was her helper but she did everything but take the cookies out of the oven! It is so much fun having someone who wants to help and do things! She even wrote down the directions from my recipe card onto a pad of paper of her own. Thanks for the GREAT COOKIES MADI

The Rest of Spring Break

We had so much fun the last 2 days of Spring Break. Thursday we went over to the Wolfleys and the kids played and played outside. Above is Max showing one of his favorite ways to ride a skateboard! He had so much fun on the skateboard.

Madison and Elena rode their bikes a ton! Their faces got a little red but they had a great time riding their bikes around the "loop" They even put sun screen on and loved the way that it smelled.

Maya had just as much fun as Max did on the skateboard but they think that they are surfboards instead of skateboards! Can you tell by her face that she is loving life?

More of Max surfing!!

Madison and Elena taking it easy under the Umbrella, We had a great day spending it with the Wolfley Cousins. We even got to see the Thunderbirds practice their flight formations in the sky. The kids loved racing outside every time they heard any noise in the air!
Thanks to the Wolfleys for a great day!

First few days of Spring Break

The kids have been off this week due to spring break. What fun have we had???

On Monday we - I can't really remember. We laid outside on a blanket and watched the birds fly. The kids jumped on the tramp and use hula hoops as jump ropes. Great day for me and the kids played a lot of Wii (their favorite part)

Tuesday - we cleaned the house - hurray for me but not so much for the kids. We then we to see Bolt at the 1$ theaters. Not the best idea on dollar day and during spring break. Cute movie but no empty chairs. Kids loved it since they got popcorn and their own sodas! It's the little things that make them happy.

Wednesday - played at a friends house, went to Costco (but no samples - very sad) and to the Library.

Not too much excitement but enough to keep them from getting totally bored and driving each other crazy.

Tomorrow is the day that they are most looking forward to - WOLFLEY'S - My kids love going there and playing with their cousins, riding bikes, etc. Lots of fun - hopefully I will take some pictures and post them.

East High!

Friday Night Madison, Max and Maya got the best surprise! No - not a new puppy but sweatshirts from the REAL East High in High School Musical. They love the movies and they love the sweatshirts. They have not taken them off since we opened the box. Thanks a million to their Utah "cousin". You are the best! My kids now have decided that one day during spring break - which starts on Monday - we are going to watch all 3 movies right in a row!
Max loving the red one!

Maya posing in her latest pose!

Pat's Run - first goal

I decided that if I post a goal, I am much more likely to reach it since others will see it and hopefully ask me about it.

So, I am going to run in Pat's run on April 18th - the same day that Kindy and Karen are doing a tri in litchfield park and greg will be running a half marathon (way to go guys!!).

It's in Tempe and is 4.2 miles. So, now I have 44 days to train and get in shape for my first race in a long time. I have convinced my friend Becky to run it with me so this will give me even more of an incentive to do it! All of this is for training to do a race with my family next year.
