Me and bread

I have always enjoyed eating fresh from the oven homemade bread. I was spoiled growing up with my mom making cinnamon raisin bread, white and wheat bread. I loved it and to me it is one of the simple pleasures in life to truly enjoy.

Having said that, I have had a challenge making bread by myself. I have been told, well maybe you are not a baker and other assorted things. But I kept trying different recipes with the hope that one would turn out fluffy and delicious and light. I had friends give me a recipe and tell me that it always works for them. Well, not for me.

Well, that all changed last week. I borrowed a fantastic wheat grinder from my friend and I tried the latest bread recipe from my other friend. I waited to see if the bread would rise - and it started to and then kept going until I cooked it and it came out perfect!!!

I wish that I would have taken a picture to document this momentous occasion - but I was too excited to eat fresh bread. Maybe next time!

This may not seem like an exciting piece of news to some but to me - this is huge! Thanks to Traci for the recipe that finally worked for me!

I can totally appreciate the excitement of this accomplishment! I am not very good at baking (although I like to) and and so intimidated by the though of baking a loaf of bread! Congrats!!!

Is it Shar's recipe(the bosh lady)? I love that recipe- I think Traci uses that one too. It is really yummy. Way to go. LOVE homemade bread.

Yea Kari!! You should have called me to borrow the wheat grinder! This is the first bread recipe I ever attempted. If I could do it, anyone can! Don't you just love the smell in your house?

Hooray! I had a bread breakthrough this month, as well (with cinnamon rolls). Congratulations... that is quite an accomplishment!
